She brings over 5+ years of hands-on experience working in Montessori classrooms, guiding children during the most important years of their early development.
Unlike many preschools that simply adopt the Montessori name, Sowmya has received formal Montessori teacher training from IMTC, Whitefield, where she learned the Montessori philosophy, child psychology, classroom observation and the proper use of Montessori materials.
She also holds a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree and has completed a Postgraduate Certification from Howard Community College, Maryland, USA, giving her a strong academic foundation along with international exposure.
After spending several years working in Montessori schools, she realised that many schools mix traditional teaching methods with Montessori practices. This inspired her to create a preschool that follows authentic Montessori principles every single day.
Her vision for Svaya Montessori is simple—to create a calm, beautiful and prepared environment where children learn naturally through exploration, movement and meaningful work instead of pressure and rote learning.
